Expressions of Interest in Beyond The Kitchen Table 2024

Feb 26, 2024

Food and Drink North East now invite expressions of interest in Beyond the Kitchen Table (BTKT) 2024, a specialised training programme for small-scale food and drink producers looking to expand their business and become retail-ready.

Aimed at ambitious small and micro food and drink businesses in the North of Tyne area and beyond, the Beyond The Kitchen Table business support programme, designed by Food and Drink North East, features learning and one-to-one mentoring that is designed to help get small, local businesses ready to supply into the retail and foodservice sectors.

Through a mix of virtual webinars, 1:1 mentoring and confidence coaching, participants will learn from experts and businesses owners on specific topics designed to teach them how to meet the needs of potential buyers, develop their story and hone their pitch, as well as pitching best practices.

At the completion of the programme, the participating food and drink businesses will come together to present their products at the HITS Expo 2024 from 13th-14th May at the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle, and do a live pitch in front of buyers in a Meet The Buyer session. This gives buyers and retailers an opportunity to discover new and exciting producers to work with who are offering something completely unique to the North East food and drink scene, as well as the opportunity for participants to make new business connections.

Philip Lauder, founder of The Donut Lab, took part in the Beyond The Kitchen Table programme in 2023, and said, “I would highly recommend the Beyond the Kitchen Table programme for any small or micro food and drink business that is looking to expand into the retail and foodservice sectors.

“The programme is well-structured and provides a comprehensive overview of everything you need to know to get your business ready for retail, from developing your story and honing your pitch to meeting the needs of potential buyers. The one-to-one mentoring is also invaluable and provides you with tailored support to help you achieve your business goals.”

Food and Drink North East are now looking for expressions of interest in the Beyond The Kitchen Table programme for 2024 from food and drink producers in the North of Tyne area and beyond.

The programme will be commencing in Spring 2024, with the final pitching session taking place at the HITS Expo from 13th-14th May 2024, with limited spaces available for a small number of food and drink businesses. To find out more, and to register your expressions of interest, please click here.
