With effect from 1st May, North East England Farmers Markets (NEEFM) will come under the umbrella of FADNE who will manage its website and social media channels, as well as continuing to support the market operators’ network.

FADNE will work as a NICRE Innovation Associate alongside Newcastle University, to co-design and deliver a programme of enterprise and innovation pump priming activities around digital transformation and low carbon logistics in the food and drink sector.
FADNE has collaborated with the North East Local Enterprise Partnership to provide data and intelligence for the industry report on the impact of COVID-19 on the North East food and drink sector, which is now available online to read and download.

FADNE has worked tirelessly to lobby local leaders to allow outdoor markets to continue, and it has now been announced that Newcastle City Council has put in place the necessary safety measures that will allow markets to reopen on Wednesday 2nd December.
