Brand, Positioning & Storytelling Workshop

16 November

Every food and drink business has a story worth telling — but knowing how to build a brand around it and communicate it with confidence is where many businesses struggle.

This practical workshop session brings together some of the North East’s most distinctive food, drink and hospitality businesses to explore what great branding looks like in practice – and how to tell your story in a way that connects, convinces and converts. Facilitated by Food and Drink North East (FADNE) and delivered as part of the North East Rural Growth Programme, which is funded by the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority (North East MSA).

The workshop session is led by businesses who have built compelling brands from the ground up. Whether you are a producer working out how to stand out on shelf or a hospitality operator looking to build a brand that brings people back, the Brand, Positioning & Storytelling workshop will give you practical tools, honest insight and a clearer sense of where to focus.

Brand, Positioning & Storytelling Workshop | 9am – 1pm

Join fellow food and drink producers and hospitality businesses for a hands-on workshop exploring how strong brands are built through clear identity, compelling storytelling and authentic communication.

Through practical examples and real-world insights from local businesses, you’ll discover how successful brands define what they stand for, communicate their values and use storytelling to create genuine commercial impact.

You’ll leave with a clearer brand narrative, a stronger sense of where to focus, and practical actions you can apply immediately to your own business.

This workshop will cover:

  • What a brand actually is – beyond the logo
  • Building a brand identity that reflects your values and connects with your audience
  • Telling your story across every touchpoint – from packaging and websites to guest experiences and social media
  • Using storytelling as a commercial tool to build loyalty and stand out in a competitive market
  • Practical brand story framework using your own business as the foundation

The Format

These sessions are deliberately different. There are no lectures, no generic slides and no theory for theory’s sake. Instead, you will hear directly from business owners who have built brands you know and admire – and work through practical exercises relevant to your own business, in a room full of peers who get it. A networking lunch from 1pm-2pm allows attendees to connect and collaborate in an informal setting.

No lectures, no generic slides. Three speakers, an open room and structured time to work on your own product development challenges – supported by FADNE and the people in the session with you. The networking lunch that follows is part of the day.
