FADNE hosts a roundtable to discuss exporting to the USA

Nov 1, 2022

Leaders of some of the region’s most innovative and well-known food and drink businesses came together at Träkol restaurant last month to discuss the challenges of exporting to the USA. Topics for discussion included the North East’s unique offer and how best to get a foothold in the North American market.

Led by Food and Drink North East and their partners OCO Global, guests included Alice Ancona and Ivan Barrios from the World Trade Center Miami. An organisation behind two annual trade shows promoting international food and drink brands in Miami each year.

After a tour of the By The River Brew Co. site by owner Dave Stone, guests were treated to an excellent menu that included top-quality local produce and craft beer brewed on-site. Lively discussions ensued. These included the challenges faced by regional businesses looking to export and the importance of provenance and proposition in helping products stand out from the crowd. The event proved an excellent opportunity to share ideas and make valuable connections, sowing the seeds of collaboration and a stronger sense of collectivism.

A massive thank you to Träkol for hosting us and showcasing the very best of our region’s hospitality. Also, thanks to our partners at OCO Global for the opportunity to host and our guests from World Trade Center Miami, who reaffirmed their offer to assist companies within the FADNE community looking to do business stateside. We look forward to continuing to build bridges with you.

Last but not least, thanks to local businesses Neurogenics Ltd, Beckleberry’s, Greggs, Sweetdreams Confectionery, VBites Group, Moorland Spirit Company, Epicurium Ltd, By The River Brew Co., and Erudus for attending the dinner and helping our community grow from strength to strength.

Let’s keep the conversations going.
