Food and Drink North East team up with Erudus to support the North East food and drink industry, opening up opportunities to share product data with over 85,000 caterers and 150 wholesalers across the UK.
Food and Drink North East (FADNE) has formed an exciting new partnership with fellow North East-based company Erudus, a market leading source of accurate allergy, nutritional and technical product data, populated by food producers and manufacturers from across the food and drink industry.
Used by over 900 manufacturers and 150 wholesalers, buying groups and distributors, Erudus holds over 200 specifications for the 44,000 products in its data pool — including certifications, imagery, and allergen information on the 14 major food allergens.
It also gives manufacturers who subscribe to its services the ability to reach multiple customers and trading partners at once, negating the need to communicate information to each of them individually — saving time and boosting efficiency.
“This strategic partnership with Erudus is not only hugely exciting but an absolute no-brainer for us and our network of 750+ affiliates across the FADNE Community,” says Chris Jewitt, founder and managing director of FADNE. “At Food and Drink North East, we take pride in being an inclusive organisation working with food and drink businesses, large and small, throughout the supply chain.
“As these businesses evolve and look for new market opportunities, there will be a growing expectation that products are safe and that technical, dietary and allergen information is watertight so that buyers can make informed decisions on purchasing.”
The announcement of this partnership coincides with FADNE’s new membership initiative called the FADNE Community that is designed to help and support North East businesses within the food, drink and hospitality sector to reach their fullest potential and maximum profitability.
By welcoming Erudus as a FADNE Community partnership, it will allow associate and partner members of the FADNE Community to have inclusive, unlimited support to the full suite of Erudus’s manufacturer solutions, ensuring that everyone in the supply chain can access the information they need quickly and easily, and rely on it to be up-to-date.
Jon Shayler, COO of Erudus, says, “Erudus exists to help and support the food industry and, as a Newcastle-based business ourselves, we were particularly impressed with the work FADNE are doing in promoting the North East within that sector.
“This region is filled with amazing producers and manufacturers whom FADNE work with and help, and who will now benefit from our experience, knowledge and promotion of food safety within businesses. This partnership feels like a natural step for us, we are delighted to offer the FADNE membership access to the Erudus platform, and believe that together we can really put the North East on the food map.”
