Throughout this month, a selection of incredible small and micro food and drink businesses in the North East have been participating in the Beyond The Kitchen Table Programme – a programme of learning and one-to-one mentoring designed to help get small, local businesses ready to supply into the retail and foodservice sectors.
Starting with a kick-off welcome session, the participants have access to a series of online webinars delivered by experts and businesses owners that cover specific topics designed to teach each producer how to meet the needs of potential buyers while developing their story and honing their pitch to them. They are able to work through these webinars at their own pace with self-guided learning.
There is also the opportunity for participants to attend an in-person training session on pitching best practices and the chance to do a live elevator pitch for feedback, as well as up to six hours of fully-funded support with specialist consultants in areas such as finance, operations, labelling and storytelling, so that participants feel fully prepared and confident to approach buyers with their products.
At the completion of the programme, the food and drink businesses will come together to present their products at the HITS Expo from 3rd-4th May at the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle for a Beyond The Kitchen Table final pitch.
So, whether you’re a buyer, retailer, chef or producer, book your FREE ticket now for the HITS Expo via Eventbrite, and come along to see our amazing local producers in action in the Beyond The Kitchen Table final pitch on Thursday 4th May. You can discover new and exciting producers to work with who are offering something completely unique to the North East food and drink scene, as well as the opportunity to make new connections.
It really is not to be missed!
The Beyond The Kitchen Table Programme is delivered by FADNE, in collaboration with NGI and NBSL, with funding by the North of Tyne Combined Authority, as part of the HITS programme which supports innovation in tourism, food, drink and hospitality across the North of Tyne.
