The North East of England Farmers Market website was a labour of love and was initially created to publicise and share details of regular farmers markets held across our region. FADNE took over the running the site in April 2021 and set about looking for ways to improve it and make it more universally appealing and useful.
The updated site has now been launched as a vendor managed resource where food producers, retailers, farmers market organises can add their own event and locations onto the interactive, map-based site.
Designed by Food and Drink North East (FADNE) in partnership with the National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE). This website provides easy reference to some of our best local produce. Although far from exhaustive, we aim to grow this map into a valuable community resource — ideal for anyone looking to purchase North East products and produce.

The National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE) exists to foster rural enterprise. It aims to unlock the potential in the UK’s rural economies. We focus on three interconnecting activities.
- We fill gaps in our current knowledge of rural enterprise and innovation. We achieve this by undertaking and commissioning new research.
- We develop practical solutions with businesses, rural communities and economic development agencies. They show new approaches to rural innovation that we can scale up to solve problems and realise new opportunities.
- We provide evidence to influence better policy and support for rural businesses.
